Hosmer Winery

Hosmer Winery is founded on the principle that great wine starts in the vineyard.  The first vines were planted on the family farm in the early 1970’s.  Cameron and Maren Hosmer established the winery in 1985, and were among the pioneers in the blossoming industry.   Our 60 acres of vineyards include European and European-American hybrid grapes and are producing some of the finest fruit in the Finger Lakes region.  Cameron works closely with his vineyard staff to assure the excellence of the entire wine making process, from the basic fruit to the final product, consistent quality Estate Grown wines in the European tradition.

Hosmer wines have consistently earned prestigious medals from both regional and international wine competitions.  Most notably, in 2002, Hosmer Winery received the elegant Governor’s Cup which recognizes the “Best of Show” or top prize of all entries in the New York Wine and Food Classic.  The same 2001 Dry Riesling was voted “Best White Wine” and “Best Riesling” on its way to the ultimate award amongst over 500 entries.

Since then, we have earned "best of" honors for several of our wines at the prestigious New York Wine and Food Classic Competition, including:

In 2005: “Best of Class”: Hybrid Sparkling and "Best of Category” for NV Sparkling Wine

In 2003:  "Best Cayuga" for our 2001 Cayuga White

In 2003:  "Best Cabernet Franc", and "Best Red Wine" for our 2001 Cabernet Franc

In 2002:  “Governors Cup Winner", "Best Riesling", and "Best White Wine" for our 2001 Dry Riesling
